Calculator assumptions & rules
Uses this entry’s AC formula, Dexterity cap and listed shield bonus. Magic AC already included in the entry is counted once. Features, spells, alternative AC formulas and exceptions to Strength penalties are excluded. You still need the required armor training or proficiency.
Changing calculator inputs does not change the item’s rules or create a new page URL.
What Breastplate does
- This armor starts at AC 16 and caps a positive Dexterity modifier at +2. A negative modifier still reduces AC.
- It does not impose Stealth Disadvantage from the armor itself, which preserves more options for sneaking.
You have a bonus to Armor Class while wearing this armor. The bonus is determined by its rarity. This is the very rare Breastplate (+2) variant. Its magic bonus to AC is +2, in addition to the base armor's normal Armor Class.
