Calculator assumptions & rules

What Mithral Armor does

  • AC 14 does not improve with Dexterity. Compare armor options using your actual Dexterity modifier rather than their base AC alone.
  • It does not impose Stealth Disadvantage from the armor itself, which preserves more options for sneaking.
Mithral is a light, flexible metal. Armor made of this substance can be worn under normal clothes. If the armor normally imposes Disadvantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks or has a Strength requirement, the mithral version of the armor doesn't. This is the Ring Mail variant.
