Why roll here
- SRD magic item cards the tables link to
- 514
- monster family generators
- 29
- 2024 monsters, each with a loot section and its generator
- 331
- gemstones and art objects described
- 100
- Rules as written. Every die follows the treasure tables in chapter 7 of the 2014 Dungeon Master's Guide: Individual Treasure, Treasure Hoards in four CR bands and Magic Item Tables A to I. Each roll shows the row it landed on, so you can check it against the book.
- Your dice, not ours. Roll at the table and type every d100 and coin die in; nothing is decided for you unless you leave it empty.
- Linked to the rules. A magic item opens its SRD card, a gem or art object its description, a creature its stat block.
- Made for play. Lock the finds you like and reroll the rest, print item cards for your players, and share a link that replays the exact roll.
- Free, no account. Every roll is made fresh in your browser.
How this generator works
A dragon's hoard grows with the dragon, and the Dungeon Master's Guide tables grow with it. Pick the dragon and its challenge rating comes from its stat block: a wyrmling rolls on the CR 0–4 hoard table, a young dragon on CR 5–10, most adult dragons on CR 11–16, and an ancient dragon on CR 17+, where Magic Item Tables H and I bring very rare and legendary items.
Beside the treasure, every hoard leaves a few remains of the fallen: flavour from this site, not a DMG table, and not counted in the total. Every one is a story about who tried this lair before your players.

Questions
How big is a dragon hoard?
It follows the hoard table of the dragon's CR. The coins alone average 14,000 gp and 1,750 pp at CR 11–16 (4d6 × 1,000 gp, 5d6 × 100 pp), and 42,000 gp and 28,000 pp at CR 17+ (12d6 × 1,000 gp, 8d6 × 1,000 pp), before gems, art objects and magic items.
Which table does an adult red dragon use?
Its CR is 17, so the CR 17+ table, the same as an ancient dragon. Most other adult dragons are CR 13–16 and use the CR 11–16 table.
Does the colour of the dragon matter?
Not to the tables. Colour changes the lair, not the size of the pile. Reskin the art objects to fit: a white dragon's hoard frozen in ice, a black dragon's sunk in a swamp.
Should I hand out the whole hoard at once?
An ancient dragon's hoard can be the reward for an entire tier of play. Many DMs split it: what the party can carry now, and the rest locked in the lair for a return trip.
